Swing into action and join us for Safe Harbor’s 15th Annual Golf Tournament for the Protection of Our Children!
Over the years, support from the community has allowed Safe Harbor to serve more than 400 children annually, providing them with forensic services, therapeutic care, and support for the life of their case. However, we now face an unprecedented challenge that threatens the core of our mission.
Our primary funding source, which has been a cornerstone of our operations since our inception, has been reduced by 10% in the current year, and we will experience additional reductions of 65% starting July 1, 2024. This equates to a loss of approximately $150,000. This significant cut in funding will have a profound impact on our ability to continue serving vulnerable children. Without immediate intervention, the number of children we can help will be drastically reduced, leaving many without the support they desperately need.
We AIM to raise $50,000 through our tournament.
Consider that in the jurisdictions that we serve there were more than 10,000 child abuse referrals to child protective services in fiscal year 2023.
Safe Harbor is the only 501(c)(3) tax-exempt child advocacy center in our region. We provide a child-focused, community-based setting in which highly trained professionals come together to respond to child abuse in such a way that honors the child’s needs and rights to safety, dignity, and privacy.
